Are you a morning person? Well you might want to consider changing some of your habits to become one!
Studies show that individuals are more likely to be more productive in the morning. After a nights rest, your mind is ready to get to work. Make sure the first activities in the morning are significant and meaningful.
Here are 5 suggestions of things you should be doing before 8am to be more successful:
1. Wake up early
The average person wakes up when their alarm goes off, allowing for the exact amount of time they need in order to get themselves ready and into the office for work. This is taking away from your day. We spend about 1/3 of our lives working so we should make the most out of our own time doing things for ourselves. Give yourself a couple hours in the morning for you before going to work.
If you happen to wake up naturally before your alarm, get up! Don’t roll back over and go back into a deep sleep. Chances are you’ll wake up even more tired by doing this.
Also if you are currently working a 9 to 5 and wish to become an entrepreneur, try getting up early and using this time to work on your craft. Whether it’s starting a business or becoming a writer, use this time in the morning to get things done before you get fatigued from your day.
A workout is the perfect way to start a day. You get to relieve some stress and feel accomplished first thing in the morning. Even if you are someone who isn’t very motivated to exercise but know you need to do it, if you go ahead and get it out the way in the morning you won’t have to worry about it later.
Exercising also helps wake you up by giving you more energy, thus, allowing you to be more productive during your day.
3. Plan Your Day
One of the most important things you should do in the morning is make a plan for your day. Write a to do list. Did you know that 81% of rich people have a to do list? Make goals. Set daily intentions. Write it down.
Doing these things helps you to be more accountable. If you write things down vs. just saying them in your head and you are constantly looking at these things, you are more likely to get it done.
We all know that reading is fundamental, it fuels your mind. Whether you read for pleasure or information, you are exercising your brain and it is a great way to get things going in the morning.
Challenge yourself by picking up something informative that you might not normally. Even if it’s just a business magazine or an article, you will learn something new and improve your vocabulary along the way. Also this helps when you are at a work meeting with colleagues and having casual conversation, you will have other things to talk about!
5. Get Inspired
Lastly, do something to get you inspired for the day. Try meditating for a couple of minutes in silence and then looking at some inspirational quote pages on Instagram or listening to a podcast or audio book on your way to work or as your getting dressed.
Getting some inspiration in the morning is always perfect as an added boost of motivation and positivity for your day.
