Cucumbers are easily the most refreshing vegetable, made almost 95% of water and vitamins. So let’s refresh our skin with these wonderful DIY cucumber face mask recipes.
All the recipes below (except #1) are great for all skin types. They all work amazing for dry skin due to the super hydrating properties of cucumbers. The first recipe though, will excel as remineralizing and getting rid of acne.
Why is Cucumber good for your skin? The journal of aging research suggests that cucumbers:
- Lighten skin tone, reduce redness and lighten dark spots. This is from the melanin.
- Moderate sebum production, aka is great for oily skin.
- Anti-inflammatory properties reduce redness of acne and blemishes.
- High levels of vitamin K help reduce dark circles under your eyes.
Not only is cucumber popular in topical treatments, but it’s also said to be a strong anti-aging vegetable when consumed. That’s because it helps with re-hydration of your cells, to slow down the anti-aging process.

Collagen is naturally produced by your skin and responsible for your skin elasticity. It has ingredients that a beginner DIY will not have in their cupboard, including the preservatives. But that said, it’s the only face mask on this list that has a shelf life of more than 3 days.
