In today’s society, gentlemen are a dime a dozen. So, it’s a little bizarre to hear that a so-called gentleman hurt a woman for not showing thanks for holding the door open for her.
Lakeeya Walker, around seven weeks pregnant, says that when she was walking into a building where she works, a man was kind enough to hold open the door for her to walk through.
Not sure how to respond, she just walked into the building without saying anything to him. This, however, turned out to be the wrong thing for Walker to do.
The man got enraged by her lack of response to his gentlemanliness and he flipped out, saying she was an ungrateful bitch. Feeling offended–after all, she never asked him to hold the door open for her–Walker tried to reason with the man, telling him that it was not necessary to talk to her in such a manner.
The man, however, seemed to take this as a second insult. He grabbed a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee he had been drinking and threw it, with all its hot content, into her face.
This apparently wasn’t enough, as the man then grabbed Walker and dragged her outside the building. Pinning her against a gate, he continued attacking her. He even kicked her in the stomach and threatened to kick the baby out of her stomach.
“He then choked me with one hand and then started hitting me repeatedly with the other,” she said. “When he felt good and ready, he pulled me off the gate. He threw me on the floor like a WWE mat, while laying on my back….I’m kicking, kicking, kicking, trying to protect myself.”
Somehow, Walker survived the attack. She was rushed to the Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment. However, one of the doctors told her that a blood clot had been detected in her unborn baby’s head, which was more than likely brought about by the beating. It could go away, or it could not.
A man, called Darryl Guillyard, has been arrested for the attack. Since the attack, Walker has revealed that she feels the man had specifically targeted her, and would have assaulted her whether or not she thanked him for holding the door open.
What makes her suspicious is that her pregnancy is not yet visible. So, her question is: how did her assailant know she was with child when he made the comment about kicking it out of her?
For now, there’s no way to know what the assailant’s motive was; the police investigation is still ongoing. One thing’s for sure, though: a pregnant woman was attacked by either a psychopath or a hired assailant.
