Why you should eat organic raw foods
It doesn’t make much sense to go on a raw food diet for health purposes, only to purchase products that are filled with toxic chemicals (preservatives, herbicides and pesticides). This is why it’s recommended that you take an organic approach to your raw food diet.
So when you go shopping for your fruits, nuts and veggies, make sure that you go to the organic aisle. Another option is to go to a local farmer’s market to buy locally-grown organic produce. Make sure that the items you buy are USDA certified organic.
Planning out your raw food meals
To make things easier, you can switch out breakfast and lunch with raw foods and save your one cooked meal for dinner. Your snack should also be raw.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why eating fresh fruits and a smoothie could help you get a great boost of energy for the day ahead of you.
If you are planning to workout during your diet, make sure to add in extra smoothies, especially those filled with proteins like almonds, spirulina and hemp.
You don’t have to be skimpy with your smoothies and raw food meals either. You can eat these all day and all that will happen is you will go to the bathroom more often, which is always a good sign for weight loss.
Just make sure that you are drinking plenty of water to help with the weight loss — remember, water flushes out your system.
You should be drinking around 67% of your body weight in oz. So if you weigh 250lbs, then you should be drinking 167.50oz of water daily.
Seems like a lot, but if you work out, this won’t be too hard to do. You should also cut out other drinks and only intake water and 100% natural juices (and unpasteurized) with no sugar added.
You should plan out your meals in advance, so that you know exactly what you’ll be eating each day. Since there’s no cooking involved, this should be fairly simple.
Just stack up on a week’s supply of fresh foods that you can eat and drink in smoothies. I say a week because you want to keep your raw fruits and veggies fresh.
If you buy frozen for your smoothies, then you won’t have to worry about the expiration date anytime soon.
If you get hungry in between meals, you can snack on almonds or walnuts, which are filled with omegas and other beneficial minerals.
Nuts are known to fill you up quite well. You can bring that and a salad to work with you and even a smoothie if there’s a fridge you can set it in.
Are you trying to lose weight or are you just looking to become healthier and fit? Do you think the raw diet is something you could pull off?
