As a young adult who often gets questioned if my mother is my sister, when I came across this story of a mother and daughter who dress as twins I thought it was adorable!
It’s awesome that our black mothers across the nation are blessed with amazing genes that proves the phrase “black don’t crack”!
That’s for sure with 46-year-old Sue Evans. She and her 23-year-old daughter Imani are often confused for sisters.
The duo has basically identical wardrobes and dress alike daily. Everything down to the hair and makeup and they often get stares followed by comments when out in public.
Imani told The Sun,
“We are the ultimate mother and daughter duo — MADD for short, which is quite apt. We’ve been mistaken for sisters so many times that I have lost count. I definitely take it as a compliment.”
They are together just about 24/7. When they aren’t running their online fashion store together, they are either shopping or hitting up the gym. The definition of best friends.
The twinning idea was all Imani. After two failed marriages for her mother, she wanted to help her get her groove back by picking out her clothes for her. Turns out they were the exact same outfits as hers.
Sue looks to her daughter as like her own personal stylist. While she doesn’t always like all of the outfits that are picked out many have definitely grown on her.
Imani also speaks of wanting to have a double marriage with her mother. Imani has the whole double wedding planned out to a T from how they will walk down the isle to how they will exchange vows beside one another.
While she is still on the hunt for her beau, her mom however has had quite a few dates. But no worries, she has plenty of time. She’s young.
While I thought this was super cute for them, I couldn’t imagine actually going out and dressing like my mother everyday as an adult or having a double wedding with her.
