Girls, if you haven’t made the decision to be the best you yet, the time is now. We love the idea of glowing skin.

Sure we play in makeup every now and again to hide blemishes and enhance our look. But as we get older we want to take extra special care of our skin, creating that natural glow, highlighting gives us, and eliminating the dark spots we try to cover up.

The skin is the largest organ on our body and it it the most exposed to elements so it does need extra special. With that said here is our guide to your best skin ever!

1. Drink water

When we say drink water we mean…drink a lot of water.  Even better if you can drink alkaline water. The reason we sometimes notice that our skin is dull or that we have dark circles is because we are not hydrated enough. The doctor will tell you thirst is a sign of dehydration so if you are thirsty you have not been drinking enough.

Water also gives you that glow your skin should have naturally. To know how much you should drink simply divide your body weight in half and that is how many ounces you should be drinking per day.

2. Exfoliate your neck face and chest

Cleanse your face with an all natural cleanser, like black soap or any of your favorite natural bars. You can make your own scrub to use daily or purchase one. We love the St. Ives brand, it has been around for years and it is very effective.

Exfoliate your face, neck, and chest to get rid of dead skin cells revealing radiant beautiful skin.  We love the visage facial brush, just one of my favorite beauty discoveries last year that was gentle on my skin and wallet.

3. Use products with Vitamin C

Vitamin C is known for its anti aging properties, protecting your skin from sun damage, fading dark spots and building collagen.

Your skin care products must have Vitamin C listed on the bottle, they mostly come in the form of serums. If you want to make your own, try this recipe:

Mix it in the palm of your hands and rub your hands together until you feel the the crystals of the powder dissolve. Apply it to your face neck and chest after you have cleansed your face and before you moisturize.

4. Try a face peel

Masks are always awesome because they remove toxins and give you an immediate glow. Use fruit to make your masks, they are gentle and full of vitamins in comparison to the chemical peels that have ..well chemicals!  If you are thinking of trying a chemical peel, read this first a few things consider before doing a TCA Chemical Peel for Clearer Skin.

Great tip – Juice your strawberries, papaya or pineapple and freeze the fruit juice in ice cube trays. In the morning, grab a cube and rube it all over your face, neck and chest. Allow the liquid to sit for 10-15 minutes then rinse with warm water. (freezing green tea works too)

5. Get that turmeric in

You have three choices you can drink it like a tea or you can get the turmeric capsule at the health food store or you can use it topically. Turmeric is so amazing I would encourage you to do at least 2 out of the three.  Here’s 10 reasons why Turmeric is so amazing for not only just your skin.

Turmeric fights inflammation, it is anti aging and anti acne. To make the tea, add 1 teaspoon of the turmeric to a glass of hot water, add some fresh lemon, a pinch of cayenne and some honey for taste. If you can bear the taste skip the honey if you like.

For the turmeric face mask mix 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon rice flour, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar until you get a paste. Turmeric is also great to permanently remove facial Hair With Turmeric and Sea Salt.

You can apply the entire thing your your face and neck as a mask or spot treat on unruly disrespectful pimples. (leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes).

6. I’m in love with the CoCo

Coconut that is! If you are not using coconut in your beauty regimen you need to start. Coconut milk in your hair for protein and shine, coconut oil on your skin, hair and feet, coconut milk and yogurt replacing your dairy. Coconut water is also great for digestion, hydration and beautiful skin!

 7. Exercise

Get and stay active, sweat out all the toxins and give your skin a chance to really show you what it’s got. After a great work out hit the steam room or sauna for even more toxin release. You will thank us later.
