In the first article of Self Motivation Series I discussed the importance of staying positive regardless of how many boomerangs life throws at us. It was no coincidence that being positive was the first part to this series.
Getting yourself in the right mindset at the start is what is going to help you bring yourself up to higher levels.
After you are in a positive state of mind you must take into account that it is okay to be yourself. I am a strong advocate in being comfortable with who you are and here are three ways you can get there.
1. Appreciate what makes you different
The things that make you different may seem like setbacks but those unique qualities will propel you forward. Build up your confidence!
I know it may seem hard to do even more so when everyone around you seems to be tearing you down.
It is important that you focus your energy on being confident in your skin and in the things that make you unique.
2. Let go of old grudges, mistakes and setbacks
Being yourself is so much more than accepting who you are. You also have to learn to let go of grudges from the past that can otherwise destroy you.
Will you let the past dictate your future? Learning from past endeavors is one thing, but it is another to re-live those moments everyday either mentally or putting those thoughts into action. Let go of the pain you have experienced and welcome positivity into your world.
When you do this it opens doors to who you actually are because you are not letting anything stand in your way.
3. Make yourself happy first
If you are not happy with who you are, you can not expect someone else to be happy with you.
This is especially true when it comes to relationships. Nourish yourself first, and then everything else will follow.
Once you take control of being the unique individual that you are, the world will seem more appealing to you and you will be just as appealing to the world. The odds will forever be in your favor.
