Our everyday encounters are enough to tear us down, emotionally, physically, and even spiritually. Through everything it is important to be self motivated as these things take a toll on us daily.

This is the first of a four part series of articles that will uplift you during your down days and ultimately give you a different perspective on life.

Staying positive is one of those things that is easier said than done. You may find yourself getting caught up in everything that goes wrong in your day. In some cases when one thing goes wrong, it is like a domino effect for the rest of the day.

Minor hiccups to everyone else will become very irritating when they are presented to you. However, it is in your best interest not to focus on the negative. When you direct all your energy to the things that go wrong, you ignore all the things that go right. Take some time to think about that.

Here is an example of a scenario that is not that uncommon for most of us. You wake up to find that you are an hour late to work. In your head, that may be strike one.

You proceed on your way only for your car to break down five minutes from your workplace. Yet, another unfortunate event.

Off course, at this point you may be pretty ticked off, because you have some expensive car repairs that lie ahead, but remember you did wake up this morning with a roof over your head.

You are in good health, you have transportation, and a job. Be thankful, as many people can only dream about having the opportunity to experience those things.
