This has been a rough week, singer Simone Battle of G.R.L suddenly passed away at the age of 25. The singer was on the up and up and was originally discovered competing on X-Factor in 2011.

The cause of death is still ‘unclear’ but the suspicion is suicide, Lt. W. Nash of the sheriff’s West Hollywood station told City News Service that police officers were dispatched to the home of the singer due to a report of a “possible suicide”.

Even though officials have not released officially that it was suicide, TMZ.com has reported it as an apparent suicide. Robin Antin the creator of the Pussy Cat dolls released the below statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”

Her band mates have yet to give individual statements on the death of their friend, because of course this is all very shocking. G.R.L however did tweet:

“Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone’s incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart.

This summer G.R.L released their first EP back in July and their single was doing very well overseas, so there was alot to look forward to. Before Simone died she tweeted:

Just landed in Sydney, Australia!!! Ugly Heart playing on the radio! Just found out its platinum! Life is but a dream!!!
