Good news for those who loved the films Think Like A Man. According to Deadline, Fox is developing a series Think Like A Man for TV.
The show will be executive produced by comedian Steve Harvey, on whose best-selling advice book the movies were based, and by the films’ producer Will Packer with director Tim Story.
Original writers from the 2012 movie and the 2014 sequel, Keith Merryman and David A. Newman, will also be on board for the TV show.
“Based on the movie franchise and Harvey’s book, the Think Like A Man series explores the never-ending battle of the sexes from four very different points of view: newly married, moving in, breaking up and hooking up. Featuring both the male and female perspectives, our couples and their friends will realize that it’s easy to fall in love and “be” in love but not necessarily stay in love.”
Some say the show will be in competition with Empire but could there be room for both?
There’s no word yet on when the show is set to begin filming or if any of the original cast members will be included.
Although I don’t believe in “dating rules” I think both movies were quite entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the first more than the second but I’ll at least give it a shot. I am, however, just a little curious on how they will redirect the plot line because the second one wasn’t really left open ended. Wouldn’t you agree?
Because of the fact that it is being written as a comedy I hope it doesn’t come out to be “corny” like the Tyler Perry Why Did I Get Married spin off, “For Better or Worse”. Just my opinion though!
I see some potential if the actors are selected properly and the writing is not rushed or thrown together. If they are able to develop an interesting plot with twists and keep the ball rolling then Think Like A Man as a series could be a success.
The original brought in $91.5 million in 2012 lets see if it holds up to Fox’s expectations and be another ratings hit when it debuts.
