How to make your sugar wax
It’s very simple to make your own sugar wax and do the process yourself at home. Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
- 1 cup of sugar of your choice (white, brown or coconut)
- 2 Tbsp of water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp sea salt
Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, put them into a saucepan and allow it to simmer on low heat until it turns into a thickened golden brown paste. Make sure the crystals dissolve by stirring the contents with a spoon. It takes less than 10 minutes for this process. Just make sure that it doesn’t burn.
After it has the color and consistency you’re looking for, take it off the heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes. While it is cooling, you should begin washing and exfoliating your legs. You can use natural ingredients like sea salt.
How to use your sugar wax
Dry your legs and then apply arrowroot powder on them, then begin applying the warm wax to your skin. Rub it downward, in the direction that your hair grows. Using a cloth, press it against the wax. Once the wax has cooled to your body temperature, remove the cloth quickly. If you don’t get all of the hairs, wait a few days before doing this again.
Wash off the remaining wax and apply grape seed or coconut oil to your skin to reduce redness. And that’s it!
As a word of caution, you don’t want to try this remedy on body parts like the bikini area, brows, upper lip or underarms, since these are more sensitive.
