I will be honest and say that I always thought that it was a lack of giving cleaning care to that area. Especially since I noticed that even with myself certain area that aren’t scrubbed xan get darker so could it not be but do too the complexities of our skin complexion?
For some people it may be diabetes but for others especially African Americans it can also be an pigmentation problem. There is an soap that you can buy on Amazon or eBay that will get rid of the problem. And this soap works!
I didn’t know about this until I took my son to the doc for his shots and the doc saw a black spot on the back of his neck and said he might have diabetes. But he turned out to be fine. He’s 13. Thank God he’s fine
Cut out as many carbs you can! Have bread once a week, save it for Sunday dinner. I promise you without bread you’ll lose weight, and become less bloated and feel better. Eat lots of veggies with your lean proteins and snack on crunchy veggies and fruit! These will give you more energy than a bag of chips or a muffin. Hope this helps!
I had this same issue with my neck I hated it my girl friend told me about a cream I used it for 4 weeks an you wouldn’t believe it worked it lighten up my skin an I don’t have that issue anymore
My son & I suffer from this he is a teenager(13) and is very subconscious about his condition because his goes all the way around his neck where as mine is back of my neck, under arms & inner thighs and the acne. I noticed his at age 6 and mine when I was 16/17. We have been to several doctors/dermatologist and the only answer we get is loose the weight only test we’ve ever had was the diabetes test which came back negative thank God. I had once lost 36lbs. (216 to 180)and my areas were/are still dark. My son is becoming more active and losing weight and his neck is still dark. Living in the South where healthcare is poor & trying to find a doctor/dermatologist that knows anything about our condition is rare. I didn’t know about the PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) thanks Preference S Robinson for the info I learned something new. I intend to keep searching for a doctor/dermatologist until this problem is solved. It amazes me how some ppl can be so inconsiderate of other ppl feelings until it happens to them or someone they love
It is usually a sign of insulin resistance and can go away by adhering to a no sugar, no starch diet. If I were you I would look into this by researching recipes that are no sugar, no starch and exercise. You can find recipes and articles on sites like Pinterest.
Started eating less and better, I’ve never really drank anything but water but I started to drink more, and I exercise. Easiest way really is to start with a 1600 calorie diet which just makes you more aware of what you eat.
Wow my daughter is 11 not a big girl but the doctor did see signs of this on her neck and she a lil over weight I really didn’t believe it but this is a sign for me thanks

It’s insulin resistance which leads to diabetes. Same with darkened arm pits.
I will be honest and say that I always thought that it was a lack of giving cleaning care to that area. Especially since I noticed that even with myself certain area that aren’t scrubbed xan get darker so could it not be but do too the complexities of our skin complexion?

Best of luck to you and your son!
I was always told that this is a result of too much sugar in your diet, and obesity.
I wondered if obesity had anything to do with it, being that I only see this on larger people. Great point?
My doctor told me it was a sign of early diabetes and being overweight. I lost 57lbs and mine went away.
How did you lose 57lbs? ?
Started eating less and better, I’ve never really drank anything but water but I started to drink more, and I exercise. Easiest way really is to start with a 1600 calorie diet which just makes you more aware of what you eat.
