ZendayaSo think back to earlier this year when Zendaya rocked her faux dreadlocks for the 2015 Oscars. If you remember her fab look, I’m sure you recall the controversy revolving around the comment Giuliana Rancic, former E! correspondent, said on the show Fashion Police about Zendaya’s choice in hairstyle for the event.

While most loved her style, the rude comment of Rancic’s dislike offended her and the 19-year-old took to Instagram speaking out about how her opinion of locs are symbolic for strength and beauty. She also mentioned that the purpose of her wearing them was to showcase them in a positive light.

Because of the star’s positive attitude and the fact that she wouldn’t let anyone bully her for her choice of hair style, she is getting honored with her own Barbie doll.

Yes, a one-of-a-kind Zendaya doll that will be a spitting image of her Oscars look!

The Mattel company shared the exciting news in a press release on Friday.

The doll is made to look just like Zendaya in her beautiful Vivienne Westwood gown, with her super long dreads running perfectly down her back.

The unique doll will be presented at Mattel’s Barbie Rock ‘N Royals Concert Experience that is set to take place on September 26th in Hollywood that Zendaya is hosting at the Palladium.

The purpose of the event is to encourage girls to raise their voices and speak up whenever they are passionate about something and to not be afraid.

I Use This Product EVERY Week!

To my gyals, clay has cured my skin of years of acne proned skin, improved my complexion, acne scars and shrunk my pores. This is the best clay mask assortment pack to try all  my favorite kinds of clay + it's affordable.

Zendaya responded in a statement saying,

“I’m excited to be a part of the new direction the Barbie brand is headed, specifically how they are celebrating diversity in the line and encouraging kids to raise their voices. It’s a positive message to send to my fans, including my nieces who are coming with me to the concert.”

I personally loved the faux dreads look on Zendaya and felt that she rocked it well! I’m proud of her for speaking up and encouraging more girls to do the same. Hopefully the doll will eventually be made available for purchase because I believe it will definitely help with that mission!
