After 10 years, Oprah Winfrey returned to Melbourn Australia where she conducted a pretty special ‘life class’. It was more of a conference where she discussed her many life lessons she learned from all of the interviews she has done over the years.

The event became even more meaningful because it was the first time that Oprah revealed that she had recently named the little boy she lost just a few weeks after he was born.

Oprah got pregnant at just 14 years old and she was very ashamed of her pregnancy. Oprah was raped multiple times by multiple family members by the age of 9 years old and the abuse lasted until she was 14 and pregnant.

It was not until someone revealed her colored past to the public for money that she even spoke about her tumultuous life and since that revelation years ago, has been quite open about what she endured. Talking about it has probably been the best therapy for her, and now she has revealed she named her son.

According to News One Australia:

During the later part of the show Oprah revealed for the first time she has recently named the baby son she lost shortly after his premature birth when she was just aged 14.

“I did an interview with a reporter before I came to Australia and she said you should name the baby son who died,” she told the audience.

“So I have named him, I had a little boy named Kaynan.

“I did have a son. And I named him Kaynan because Kaynan means new land, new life.”

While it wasn’t clear how the baby name was spelt, the star also spoke movingly in detail about the child sexual abuse she suffered as a young girl.

“I was raped at nine years old by a cousin, then again by another family member, and another family member.”

She said had she tried to hide her pregnancy at 14 because she felt so much “pain and shame.”

If we got the spelling correct it would be Canaan because that is the name given to the promised land. Oprah never ceases to amaze me.
