I think one of the big questions, as a single female, is where to go to meet single men! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely believe in “he who finds a wife….” but unless this man is going to find me in my apartment, I have got to get out of the house! I had a very interesting conversation with a couple of my closest guy friends.

I believe that it’s good to get information from your girls, but who better to talk to about men than the men themselves! After we got past the initial jokes on how I’m single, they actually got serious and really gave me some solid advice.

First, they said that I should find hobbies that I enjoy, hobbies that require me to get out of the house. I had to think about that for a second, and then I remembered that I was actually signed up for a kickboxing class, and every time I went I would see a cute guy, who would flirt with me, but I was too lazy and stopped going to the class.

My friends also said that grocery stores are also good places to meet guys. I never really thought about it that way, but that actually made sense. Plus, if a guy is grocery shopping that probably means that they cook, which is definitely a bonus.

Also, they said that I should do things that I wouldn’t normally do, like go to a sports bar for drinks versus a lounge. I’m not a sports fan, by any means, but I do like a good beer, and typically at those bars during games there are always some type of beer special or happy hour. Another thing they told me was that I should date outside of my race. I’m not going to lie, I purposely haven’t dated outside of my race in the past.

I mean, I just always imagined marrying a tall, dark, and handsome chocolate man. However, what they said did get me to thinking. The main take away from our conversation was that I should get out of my comfort zone, and not be afraid to do something new. Dating doesn’t have to be a huge guessing game either.

They said that if I want to know where something is going with a guy, then to simply ask him. Also, there’s nothing wrong with going on dates with multiple men, while you are still considering your options; that’s what men do! I certainly am glad that I had that conversation with the guys, and I will definitely keep having them in the future.
