I saw the a picture on social media with the following caption:
My young sistas, What most men WON’T tell you is tattoos on a woman diminishes her entire look. ‘It’s like defacing a Picasso.’ You become a target for easy sex. #thingsyourmamashouldhavet
oldyou
#restoringblackwomanfemininity
You know what I do not understand with men? There constant need to judge a woman with the single conclusion that something makes her ‘a target for easy sex’. The thing about an opinion like that, is that it is less about the woman more about the guy’s simplistic perception.
Do not get it twisted women know when they are sexy, they know what makes them feel that way and what doesn’t. However a man having the idea that a woman is a target for easy sex based on some ink simply means that the man is objectifying the woman in that way.
Does that mean that a woman shouldn’t have art, of course not because unfortunately tattoos are not the only thing people use to objectify women.
What she wears could come into question or how big her butt is, or her skin tone or the way she behaves around the opposite sex. There are many things that can be said about a woman by any man based on there thoughts about sex and how they personally view the opposite sex.
On the other hand I have my own personal views of tattoos, specifically sleeves. While I love seeing great work they are not for me. I am way too flaky and so it is safer for me to not have any at all.
If you go into your closet and find your favorite pair of leggings, would you decide to wear that pair for the rest of your life? This is essentially how I view a tattoo sleeve of any sort. In that sense it would diminish my look because I would not be able to turn it off when I want to. But that’s me!
I Use This Product EVERY Week!

We recognize that there are perceptions that are often placed on us based on how we look. That is just the way this world is built. For example if you decide to get inked from head to toe, new studies say that it is unlikely that you will get a job in certain industries. #fact
If you are inked in certain places on your body with the idea that the placement and the ink is sexy do not be surprised if you are not the only one that thinks so.
Being sexy however does not mean you are easy or a tramp but you might just have to deal with those notions at times which can be very frustrating if that isn’t the type of attention you want.
Comment below, do you think a woman who is tatted up diminishes her look and becomes a target for sex?
For some a lot of tattoo’s change how they think of a male and female especially as a mate. Everyone knows what they like. Some females like their males tall and thin, some men like their women thick and all it goes every way. No one person likes the same thing. You do you and be happy and someone else will love it. Personally they aren’t for me, they weren’t as popular especially for females when I was young. I’ve seen some I like on people before and then I’ve seen some that I think just aren’t attractive. To each his own.
Yes, one or two fine but all over ….naw
Yes, when there’s so many on the body to me it looks dirty !
It depends on the placement of the tattoo.
Sometimes
I personally don’t want them for myself and I don’t care what others choose to do to their bodies **shrug** No matter how stupid I think it is to have that shyt all over your face and neck IT’S NOT ME!!!
At times when I see a woman dressed in an elegant dress with a bunch of tatoos on her arm, it does look a little odd. I honestly prefer a clean body, but some are beautiful and worn well
One or two in good taste but too many to me on a male or female looks dirty
Yes!
On the face yes it depends I don’t like backyard looking tattoos on ppl but Kat Vonn D took it another level a million dollar level
No
I think tattoos on anyone’s body diminishes them.
I wish I could remove two of the tattoos that I have
Who cares, it’s their body. If you don’t like tattoos, the good news is you don’t have to get any.
Im gonna call bulls**t on that Ashley. I dated PLENTY of men who didnt have ONE tattoo.
of course! but when it comes to finding a partner who doesn’t have tattoos… good luck
There’s someone for everyone one. With the world literally having over a billion ppl on it, someone will find what you have to offer attractive. Why should ppl have to have a one size fits all mentality?
That’s wasn’t the question though.
A few nicely done ones are fine, some even sexy, the sleeves and giant pages are ridiculous and does take away some natural beauty.
Less is MORE! DEFINITELY regardless of gender!
2each her own.
Nope. I plan on getting more and I already have 5, including full sleeves and a full back. Judge your own flesh. I love my ink because each is a representation of the art in my soul, and when I’m 60 and 70 I’m certainly not going to cry about sagging skin. I’m going to be a rad ass grandma with stories to tell and love to give because I let each life lesson distribute into making me awesome and showing it on my skin. Pfft. Better hope I don’t have a motorcycle license at that age kml
No because I have plenty of tattoos and I luv them all
Your call I think!
Yep
Yes. But I guess is all what a person likes.
Yes indeed!
Absolutely
Nope
Yes, I am a female, and I like guys but seeing a female all tattoo up does not look feminine
Anyway, tattoos are for you. Whether someone likes it or not, it ain’t for them. Your opinion isn’t really relevant in any aspect of another’s life, so judging them is only hurting yourself and wasting your own time. I’m certainly not going to stop because some random person, stranger or blood relative, disapproves.
No, I have 33 tattoo’s and they do not defy me as a person. I only have to answer to one person and I can cover all my tatts up and unless I point out my tatts you would never know. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I don’t care for them, so I DONT have any. Everyone else, it’s OK.
Yes but the new generation praises woman who ink they whole body
Nope
I don’t have any tattoos . It’s okay for other people though. I just don’t want them on me
Noo if anything it makes us more sexy and attractive to others.
I have 24 tattoos… More than most men i know. Most of them are visible. I didnt get ink’d with anyone else’s opinion in mind. They tell my story and i love them. In fact im in the process of getting more drawn up. My husband doesn’t mind them at all and my son likes to ‘color’ them. Who cares what people think. Do you. It’s your skin.
I have 3 really large ones and I could care less what people have to say. I’m known for snapping on people that have an un asked for opinion about my body art. I agree with you 100%. My boyfriend loves my tattoos. Especially the one on my leg.
YUUUUUP!
TOO MANY CHOICES AND THEY ARE ALL YOURS…INCLUDING OPINIONS…
When they are overwhelming Yes thats not attractive!!!
i’m sorry, but yes. when it’s a few that are small then it’s nice. but seeing all these women with full sleeves of ink kills it. For me this actually goes for men too. It is a turn off to me that every male under the age of 30 has a ton of tattoos. it looks like a child drew on them with markers and they need to wash it off. I always keep my mouth shut about tattoos since everybody has tattoos nowadays, but i can’t stand them.
I like sleeves on men. It makes them look more manly and rugged. Hmmm wit the muscles too tho. Oh yes. But to each his own 😉
Ew^
I’m not gonna lie I love a man with muscles and a arm full of tattoos…
Me too Alisha. I can’t wait for my husband to get his all done. Mmm!
Oh lord.
Oh lord what? U dont have to like it. Im sure none of us with ink were thinking of u when we got it 😉
no…why should anyone worry about a woman and her body mind your own business
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Stop being judgmental. Live and let live!
Seriously this is some bs. She is beautiful and in 50 to 60 years she will still be beautiful. We don’t get tattoos for others approval and being judgmental asses and telling someone they would be a lot prettier if she didn’t have them is wrong. Maybe you should look in the mirror and think of how beautiful you would be if you weren’t so judgmental of others.
Its a lifestyle choice. Either you dig it or not. I love art work on paper people buildings or cars.
Yep
Yes makes her ugly to many
Yes I think it does now that I am older and more mature. I have a big one on my arm. It is very pretty but I don’t feel classy when I have it showing at church, wedding, work etc
Who cares it’s that persons body. They got the tattoos for personal reasons or because they enjoy them. NOT to please others and their views. I have loads of tattoos and others view on my body doesn’t bother me because I’m happy of what I have.
Nope. I love mine and plan to get more. But i also don’t give a crap what anyone thinks of me.
We don’t get them for guys anyway so why should they care??
Small tats are fine but. A beautiful woman in a wedding dress with tones of ink kinda takes away the beauty Of it all.
I’ve seen plenty of women in wedding dresses with tattoos and they were beautiful.
U can always get sprayed on the day of so it looks like u don’t have any
There’s always coverup but I’ve seen women with Tatts looking beautiful in formal evening wear. Wedding dresses included.
If you have to “cover up” to look nice why even put them in in the first place. Theres nothing beautiful about a bride with tattoos on her arms chest and back. I’ve never been out and saw someone in evening wear with tattoos but that would not be attractive.
I guess it would be fine for a club but after 5 function for work….no!
The judgement is real lol.
Most of mine are visible… My chest, arms and hands are done. And i have uv ink on my face thats only visible under a black light. My tattoos tell my story, my struggle and the pride of my culture. I wont be covering a damn thing when I put on my wedding gown. This is who i am. If you cant see passed my ink… I wouldn’t want u to know my heart anyway.
If she has them in her face!
